Keto Father’s Day Recipes that Dad Will Love 🍔🔥

Burgers—check ✅

Grilling—check ✅

I asked my husband what he wants to eat on Father’s Day and he immediately responded, “A piled up, juicy burger.” I say give the people what they want. Let them eat cake! Er, let them eat keto burgers. Show your dad how much you love and appreciate him by preparing a homecooked meal that includes his favorite foods.

My husband’s favorite type of Father’s Day isn’t a fancy brunch and I’m pretty sure he’s not alone. I find that most dads want to spend some time with their kids, some time with their buddies (like on the golf course or watching sports), and then come home to a satisfying, low-key meal.

With these Father’s Day recipes, you can do the prep work (in just minutes), while Dad is away and tidy up afterward in the kitchen. Upon his return, fire up the grill. If grilling isn’t your forte, I bet Dad won’t mind, in fact he’ll probably enjoy, donning his apron for the few minutes that this keto burger and grilled broccoli take to cook.

You can prep this meal in one swoop or plan ahead. First, sauté the mushrooms. Then, turn on the grill. Prep the burger meat and broccoli and head over to the grill. This entire meal is ready in 45 minutes from start to finish.

I love a good burger in pretty much any shape or form. Anything from grilled in the backyard to fast food to sit-down burger joint to decadent fine dining hamburger. Sometimes it’s a turkey burger and sometimes it’s a house-made veggie burger, but truth be told, the absolute best-tasting is with good ole’ beef, and not super lean. 90% lean still contains some fat to leave your taste buds happy and burger moist.

When shaping the burger patties, it’s important not to over handle or pack the meat so it doesn’t become tough. Simply divide the meat into portions and lightly shape into patties. That’s it.

Seasoning the burgers is also important. My go-to burger seasoning is a bottled blend geared specifically toward burgers or steak, with pepper, garlic, salt, and other spices. You can’t go wrong.

I love serving these burgers with HighKey's Cheddar, Egg White & Bacon Cheese Crunch for a crunchy, cheesy, savory side dish that’s packed with protein.

As a registered dietitian nutritionist and chef, I love converting people from “My mom used to make me choke down that boiled vegetable,” to “Whoa, I never knew that vegetable could taste so good!”

Roasted Brussels sprouts came first. And now roasted and grilled broccoli is the new darling of vegetable evangelists. And it is so easy to grill broccoli alongside your favorite meat, whether it be a hamburger, shrimp, or salmon. The key is to get your grill nice and hot first. Then put the broccoli on the grill. It’s the caramelization and charring that intensifies and concentrates the flavors of the broccoli into new profiles.
