Keto Protein Krispy Treats Recipe

For a long time, I had been avoiding sweetened cereals because of the added sugar, color, and ingredients that just do not make my tummy happy. I didn’t realize how much I had enjoyed the comfort of a bowl of cereal until I tried HighKey’s new Frosted Protein Cereal! Needless to say, I am obsessed. With ingredients, I feel comfortable about, protein to keep me full and satisfied, and a taste that just can’t be beat, I’m sold. And I know once you try it you will be too!

 

 *Please note that this is not a low carb recipe. The recipe can be made low carb or keto-friendly by substituting the mini marshmallows for low carb marshmallows.

 

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cups HighKey Protein Cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows

DIRECTIONS
  1. Place the butter and mini marshmallows in a big bowl and melt in the microwave for 40-45 seconds.
  2. Stir with a big spoon until well combined and microwave again for another 25-30 seconds. It should be like one big gooey marshmallow fluff ball.
  3. Add HighKey Protein Cereal to the bowl and stir all ingredients until well combined. It should be firm but not solid and yes, it'll still be super sticky. Option to add other fun mix-ins here like more mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, sprinkles, you name it!
  4. Press your marshmallow cereal mix out flat onto a pan (Option: Cover the pan with parchment paper first, will make your life a bit easier).
  5. Refrigerate for 1 hour. If you're feeling impatient, stick it in the freezer for 30 minutes instead.
  6. Slice into 9 squares and eat up!
