A life of delicious keto-friendly snacks awaits! With the help of some simple pantry ingredients that offer a variety of colors, tastes, and textures to produce crave-worthy mini meals, you’ll be looking forward to snack time. Try these balanced protein and fat-rich eats for your next keto snack break.

Cuban Ham Roll-Ups

This is a satisfying snack for the deli sandwich lover.

Place a Bibb lettuce leaf on a cutting board. Layer with a slice of ham, slice of Swiss cheese, line of good mustard, and a pickle strip. Roll up and enjoy.

Canned Tuna with Sesame and Jalapeno

While I love a classic tuna salad, here is a totally new riff for you to try out with an Asian flair.

Drain one 7-ounce can tuna and place in a bowl. Drizzle with 2 teaspoons dark sesame oil and 1 teaspoon tamari or soy sauce. Top with roasted sesame seeds*, thinly sliced jalapenos or avocado. Pair with seaweed snacks, if desired.

*If you only have raw sesame seeds, not roasted, you can quickly toast them in a dry sauté pan on medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, occasionally tossing or stirring the seeds to prevent burning.

Classic Deviled Eggs

With all of the parties I’ve hosted and helped with, deviled eggs are always a crowd pleaser, with infinite ways to flavor and top them.

Hard-boil 6 large eggs by covering with water and bringing to a boil. As soon as they begin to lightly boil, turn off the heat, cover with a lid, and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Drain and cover with ice water. Peel. Cut the eggs in half and place the yolks in a bowl. Mash with a fork until pebble-sized. Stir in 2 tablespoons avocado oil mayonnaise, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1/4 teaspoon salt, a couple drops of hot sauce, and pepper. Spoon yolks into egg whites. Refrigerate leftovers for up to a few days.

To switch up the flavor, get inventive with keto-friendly toppings, like smoked paprika, smoked salmon, scallions, diced avocado, dill, crème fraiche, or hot sauce. Top with cold-sealed, refrigerated dill pickle slices for crunch and added probiotic benefits.

Turkey and Goat Cheese Canapes

This snack is perfect for keto-friendly cocktail hour. Any questions?

Stir together a few slices of diced roasted deli turkey, a tablespoon of diced pimientos, a couple chopped olives, and a scoop of goat cheese. Use one of HighKey’s Cheese Crunch snacks as the perfect vehicle to deliver this yummy salad.

Chick in a Hole

With this snack you get to eat the bowl, and that bowl is an avocado. What more do you need?

Stir together 1/2 cup chopped cooked chicken (leftover, rotisserie or canned), shredded Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar, a pinch of dried basil, and salt and pepper to taste. Spoon into a ripe avocado half.

Creamy-Crunchy Coconut Butter


When you are jonesing for a keto-friendly dessert that is virtually sugar-free, this one-two flavor punch combo should do the trick. Heat 1 tablespoon coconut butter in the microwave, about 20 seconds. Stir until smooth. Sprinkle in a finger grab of cocoa nibs. Grab a spoon and savor each bite.


Meal-Prep Keto Snacks

These snacks are particularly great for prepping in bulk, grabbing and going, and eating on the run when you’re really in a time crunch:

Turkey Meatball Skewers

These are semi-homemade. My kids love them, too. Microwave 2 frozen turkey meatballs according to package directions. Skewer one on each toothpick with two cucumber chunks and a cherry tomato. Dip into 1 tablespoon regular or light (not fat-free) Ranch dressing.

Philly “Sushi” Roll  

Yes, you can skip the rice and still party on with the fun factor of a sushi roll.

Spread a layer of thinly sliced smoked salmon with a layer of whipped or light cream cheese. Sprinkle with capers, if desired. Roll and then slice into ½-inch pieces.
