There is nothing old-fashioned about this cocktail. A modern keto remake of the classic drink, this zero-carb Vanilla Chai Old Fashioned features traditional Chai flavors to complement your favorite bourbon. A guaranteed favorite for all party-goers, keto or not!






Chai Simple Syrup:

  • 1 Chai Tea Bag
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 2 Tablespoons HighKey Monk Fruit Stevia blend
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Maple Extract
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract



Old Fashioned: 

  • 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 tablespoon Chai Simple Syrup
  • 2 ounces Bourbon
  • Orange peel for garnish
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish
  • Star anise, for garnish
  • Ice








  1. Make the Chai Simple Syrup by combining all of the ingredients in a small pot over medium heat. Bring to a simmer for 5 minutes, discard the tea bag and transfer the mixture to a small jar.
  2. Place the ice in a tumbler and add in the bitters, simple syrup, bourbon, orange peel, cinnamon stick, and star anise. Serve immediately.
